Recap supports direct integration with Coinbase Pro via read-only APIs. Once connected, Recap's desktop application will pull in all of your transaction history and set up a realtime connection to your account.

For your security and privacy, the integration with Recap and Coinbase Pro is a direct connection between the Recap app and Coinbase Pro. Recap as a service does not hold any credentials that would allow us to connect to your accounts. (For more information regarding our security and privacy standards, check out our dedicated article here). We also use end-to-end encryption to ensure that the only person who can see your data is you.

To connect your Coinbase Pro account you will first need to create an API key. This key will allow the Recap app to create a direct connection to your Coinbase Pro account.

Step 1 - Click on "Add Connected Account" and select Coinbase Pro, then click next and select a name for the account

Step 2 - Log into Coinbase Pro and click the account icon in the top right. Select API from the dropdown menu

Step 3 - On the API page, click + New API Key. On the pop up box, select "View" under permissions. Then, copy the passphrase and insert it in the API Passphrase section in Recap. Click Create API Key

Step 4 - Your API Key will be created, and your API Secret shown. Note down the API Secret and copy it into Recap's "API Secret section"

Step 5 - Finally, click done on the API Secret screen. You will be back on the API homepage and your API Key will be shown. Copy this into Recap's API Key section and click Next

Voila! Your Coinbase Pro account should now be connected to Recap
