Adding Ethereum wallets to Recap is simple. We support any Ethereum Mainnet wallet including Metamask, Trezor, Ledger, Exodus, Electrum, Trust, Mist, Coinbase wallet and any other Ethereum wallet providers.
Step 1 - Get your public wallet address
All Ethereum wallets have a public address - the process for getting this address will be different depending on the wallet provider that you are using. It's usually simple to copy the address from the wallet - we've used Metamask as an example below:
Step 2 - Paste your address into Recap
And that's it! We'll automatically collect your transaction data and calculate your taxes.
Important: At the moment our Ethereum integration does not pull data from Beacon Chain. So, for now, you will need to manually import data relating to staking.
You can do so by adding transactions manually from the activity screen or by using a custom account.
Step 3 - Verify your wallet data
Check Transactions:
After syncing, Recap begins importing your wallet transactions. Check the dashboard to ensure everything looks correct.
Compare Balances:
Verify that the Ethereum balance Recap shows matches the balance in your actual wallet.
Automatic Updates:
Recap automatically detects new transactions.
If you added only a single address, you may need to add more if you use multiple addresses to receive funds.
Troubleshooting Tips
Double-check Your Address: Typos can cause missed transactions or import errors.
No Transactions?: Confirm you’re using an address that has actually been used.
