Adding Bitcoin wallets to Recap is simple. We support any Bitcoin wallet, including Trezor, Ledger, Blockstream Green, ColdCard, Casa, Exodus, Electrum and other providers.

Step 1 - Gather your public wallet addresses or xpub key

Recap supports three ways to track your Bitcoin transactions:

  • By Address: If you have a single address for a simple wallet, you can add this address individually.

  • By Single Extended Public Key (xPub): If multiple addresses are linked to one wallet (e.g., a hardware wallet like Trezor or Ledger), an xPub can automatically track them all.

  • (Coming Soon) Multisig Extended Public Key Arrangements: For more advanced users and setups, Recap will soon support extended public keys for multisig wallets such as Casa, Electrum, and Blockstream Green).

Step 2 - copy and paste your public wallet addresses or xpub key into Recap

  1. Login to Recap.

  2. Head over to the Account Screen and click "Add account".

  3. Select "Wallet"

  4. Select "Bitcoin"

  5. Name the account

  6. Select Address list to add standard addresses or extended public key to add Extended Public Keys (xpubs)

7. Enter your address or extended public keys

Congratulations! Your Bitcoin account is now synced with Recap!

Step 3 - Verify your wallet data

  1. Check Transactions:

    • After syncing, Recap begins importing your wallet transactions. Check the dashboard to ensure everything looks correct.

  2. Compare Balances:

    • Verify that the Bitcoin balance Recap shows matches the balance in your actual wallet.

  3. Automatic Updates:

    • If you added an xPub, Recap automatically detects new transactions.

    • If you added only a single address, you may need to add more if you use multiple addresses to receive funds.

Step 4 - Troubleshooting Tips

  1. Double-check Your Address/xPub: Typos can cause missed transactions or import errors.

  2. Address Format: Ensure you’re using a valid Bitcoin address (1, 3, or bc1) or a recognised xPub (xpub, ypub, or zpub).

  3. No Transactions?: Confirm you’re using an address that has actually been used, or verify the xPub is correct.
