Adding a Hyperliquid (HyperCore) Account

How to connect your Hyperliquid (HyperCore) account to Recap using your wallet address

Written by Scott

HyperCore vs HyperEVM

Hyperliquid is made up of two chains, and Recap imports each one differently.

HyperCore is the exchange, where trading happens. In Recap this is an exchange API account, connected with your wallet address - that is what this guide covers.

HyperEVM is a standard EVM chain (similar to Ethereum or Polygon) used for on-chain activity. In Recap this is a wallet account, added with your public address. See our guide: Adding a Hyperliquid (HyperEVM) Wallet.

HYPE is the native asset on both, and you can move it between them using the official bridge, so it's perfectly normal to have activity on each. Recap matches these bridge transfers between your two accounts automatically.

To capture your full history, you'll usually need to add both: your HyperCore account for your trading, and your HyperEVM wallet for your on-chain transactions.

Recap supports direct integration with Hyperliquid. Unlike most exchange connections, there are no API keys to create - Hyperliquid uses your wallet address as its only credential, and Recap never receives a private key. Once connected, Recap retrieves your full HyperCore history and keeps it up to date automatically.

This integration is currently in beta, so if anything looks wrong please let us know through support.

Step 1 - Copy your master wallet address

Use the master wallet address you log in to Hyperliquid with (a standard Ethereum-style address starting 0x), not an API agent wallet, so that all of your trades are visible.

Step 2 - Connect your Hyperliquid (HyperCore) account in Recap

  1. Login to Recap and head over to the Accounts Screen.

  2. Click "Add account" at the top right.

  3. Select "Connect to Exchange API".

  4. Select "Hyperliquid (HyperCore)".

  5. Name the account.

  6. Enter your wallet address and click Next. Recap will check the address with Hyperliquid before continuing.

Congratulations! Your Hyperliquid (HyperCore) account will now be synced with Recap!

Sub-accounts

Connecting your master wallet only imports the master wallet's activity. If Recap detects sub-accounts on the wallet during setup, it lists them and prompts you to add each one as a separate account. Repeat the steps above using the sub-account's address to capture its fills, funding and balances.

What Recap Imports

Your HyperCore import covers perps, spot trades, funding payments, transfers, vaults, borrow/lend activity and HYPE staking.

Step 3 - Verify your data

  1. Check Transactions:

    • After syncing, Recap begins importing your Hyperliquid activity. Check the dashboard to ensure everything looks correct.

  2. Compare Balances:

    • Verify that the balances Recap shows match your balances on Hyperliquid.

  3. Automatic Updates:

    • Recap automatically detects new activity on your account.

Troubleshooting Tips

  1. Double-check Your Address: Typos can cause a "Failed to connect to Hyperliquid" error or missed transactions.

  2. Missing Trades?: Make sure you connected the master wallet address rather than an API agent wallet, and that any sub-accounts have been added as separate accounts.

  3. No Transactions?: Confirm the address has actually been used on Hyperliquid.
