An Exchange Statement Account allows you to import your exchange transactions into Recap using CSV files or other supported formats downloaded from your exchange. Simply export a file containing your transactions and import it into your Recap account.

For step-by-step guides on exporting and importing files from specific exchanges, see our Exchange Statement Files guides.

Keeping Your Data Up to Date

As you continue trading, you'll need to periodically download and import new transaction files to ensure your data remains current.

How this works depends on the exchange:

  • Multiple CSV imports — some Exchange Statement accounts allow you to import multiple CSV files. Each file is added alongside your existing data, so you can upload files for different time periods separately.

  • Single CSV replacement — other Exchange Statement accounts only allow one CSV file at a time. Each new import replaces all previous data in the account. This prevents duplicate transactions and eliminates the need for manual filtering.

Tip: For exchanges that use single CSV replacement, we recommend maintaining a "master" spreadsheet and updating it with new transactions before each import. This ensures you always have a complete and accurate record.
